The lawmaker representing Karu/Gitata in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, David Maiyaki has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). His defection was announced during the plenary on Monday by the state House of Assembly Speaker, Ibrahim Abdullahi.
The lawmaker said he took the decision in the best interest of his people and after due consultation with members of his constituency.
Welcoming the legislator to the APC, the Nasarawa Assembly Speaker assured Maiyaki that he will be treated equally with those he met in the party.
