With the suspension of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Secondus, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been accused of hijacking the party. Naija News reports that a Rivers State court had ordered Secondus to stop parading himself as the national chairman or a member of the party. Justice O. Gbasam of the State High Court sitting in Degema LGA said that the suspension remains pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.

Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo has warned the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that he may lose the 2023 election by a wide margin. Speaking on Monday in a statement titled “History Beckons and I will not be Silent”, Soludo submitted that those encouraging Obi that he can win an election without a structure are only deceiving him. Though the Anambra Governor said he wishes Obi would emerge victorious at the polls, realities on the ground are not in his favour.
